Manual Bean Select
To perfectly prepare a variety of coffee specialities you need a selection of different coffee beans. This is why the Caffeo® CI® has a two-chamber bean container 'Bean Select'. Whether you would like a café crème in the morning or an Espresso after dinner: by simply switching between fine mild coffee beans or aromatic strong espresso beans in the separate chambers you get the right coffee beans for your favourite coffee.* chute also allows you to use pre-ground coffee. * Despite automatic dosing, the first cup still contains a small amount of the previous type of coffee after the bean type has been changed.
My Coffee Memory
You don't want to have to set your personal coffee preferences each time you want a coffee? No problem! With the 'My Coffee Memory' feature you can set your favourite coffeee specialities individually. Wether you would like a small strong espresso or a wonderfully creamy latte macchiato with lots of frothed milk – the Melitta® Caffeo® CI® remembers the personal settings for up to four people
Unique coffee enjoyement
Original Preparation Process As every barista knows, to prepare coffee in the original way it is crucial that the ingredients are added in the correct order. So the Caffeo® CI® pours the espresso after the frothed milk for latte macchiato, and for cappuccino it's the other way round.
Height adjustable coffee outlet
The outlet of the Caffeo® Passione® is continuously adjustable and so is suitable for all sizes of cups or glasses up to 135mm.
Intuitive to use
Thanks to the easy to understand menu, the text display and the 'Rotary Switch' dial it is child's play to navigate through the menu. With the 'Double Cup Mode' (2-cup feature) you can prepare all coffee specialities, with or without milk, for two people at once.
Plug-in milk system
The milk system of the CAFFEO® CI® guarantees optimal hygiene for perfect coffee indulgence. Among the automatic cleaning programmes of CAFFEO® CI®, you can completely remove the milk unit and clean it manually or in the dishwasher. Besides the CAFFEO® CI® is equipped with a 1l milk container* fitting in every refrigerator, so that you can always prepare specialities with fresh milk.

About Melitta
In 1908, Melitta Bentz, a 35-year-old housewife from Dresden, Germany, invented the first coffee filter, receiving a patent registration for her "Filter Top Device lined with Filter Paper" from the Patent Office in Berlin on July 8. She founded the company bearing her name the same year. In the 1930s, Melitta revised the original filter, tapering it into the shape of a cone and adding ribs. This created a larger filtration area, allowing for improved extraction of the ground coffee. In 1936, the widely recognised cone-shaped filter paper that fit inside the tapered filter top was introduced. The '102' became the most popular.
Melitta has continued to develop new techniques to improve the shape, performance, material and production process of its filter systems.
