Best Practices for Brewing

  • Use freshly roasted coffee beans and let them degas if needed.
  • Weigh your dose before grinding – ideal capacity: 20g.
  • Adjust coarseness depending on extraction time and flavour preference.
  • Clean burrs regularly to reduce fines buildup and flavour loss.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the titanium burr better than the steel version?
Yes. The titanium burr increases longevity and precision. It also improves uniformity and clarity while reducing heat and fines, making it ideal for repeat extractions or high-volume grinding.
  • Can I use the MHW M1 for espresso and filter coffee?
Absolutely. With a 24-point adjustment and 0.04mm precision, it suits espresso, moka, V60, AeroPress, and French press.
  • What’s the difference between the Maple and Walnut handle?
The wood type and colour differ. Maple is lighter in colour and slightly smoother, while Walnut offers a richer tone and grip feel.
  • Does the grinder include a travel pouch?
Yes, it comes with a deerkin velvet storage pouch and a cleaning brush.

Review and Coffee Parts Thoughts

We’ve tested a lot of hand grinders, and the Racing M1 really impressed us. The titanium burr delivers a noticeably smooth and clean flavour across espresso and filter. The weight, machining, and finish feel dialled-in, especially in the Silver/Maple variant. If you're building a premium manual kit, pair this with our MHW 3-BOMBER accessories and single-dose coffee tubes.
